Books in publication line
I have written six books which are a family saga. The idea came from the first book which was written about two young men from New Mexico and Arizona who had moved to Wyoming with their families. The boys went to the U Wyoming and became young Federal Marshals. They chased bad boys all over their assigned territories circa 1878. The bunch of them, including Pete Field, Junius Ewing, and several others, became legends. The book is called The Long Ride and is out of Amazon on-line.
The second book is the sons of these men chase a bad guy, a Mexican bandito, through Mexico because of harm this man and his men did to one of their men at a small ranch these boys have taken as a project from their familys. The work the bad boy does is killing people without remorse. The parents and a couple of hard cases come along with the lads to capture or kill the bandito. It's not a long book, but tells a long story. The title is Dogs of Justice.
The next book is a generation later. This book is a telling of a tale of two men who rob a bank and one escapes by joining the army and heading east, eventually going to France with a replacement group for the soldiers fighting there. This is circa 1918. The tale involves the money taken, how it is lost, how the robber uses others to escape detection. Finally, the sons of the first book's heroes, the bad guy is captured and being returned to face his justice when the train he's on wrecks and you have to read it to get the end. The book is titled No Hiding Place.
The next one is the another generation. This is circa 1934-1945. The son of one of the men involved in chasing the robber in No Hiding place and the daughter of the other are hired by the federal government to do legal work in Washington DC. The girl is married to a man who goes off to bring people out of Germany toward the end of the war. He isn't a very nice person. The girl is really in love with her friend from Arizona. They form a team to search for the husband after the war. They go into Russian territory of Germany and find him. The end is pretty gruesome, but lots of justice arrives in the end. The book is titled The Edge of the Knife.
30 years later a great great grandson of one of the originals takes his wife to England for a vacation. There is an IRA bomb near Harrods and she is killed. The grandson is also a former Assistant Chief of Police from New Mexico. He is filled with desire for revenge. He teams with an elderly man who had a grandson killed in much the same way. The tale is filled with intrigue and how this splinter group ruins lives all over England and even in Ireland. The title is Terror and Revenge.
The follow up to all of this is a young Marine Captain, the son of the New Mexico Assistant Chief. The idea is, of course to deal with some of the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. There will be many crosses and twists to confuse and confound, but in the end, the young Marine will become a much matured and heroic character.
There are several other books. The two best are police procedurals and they are written, but have to have some work done in editing. The most fun was the very nearly erotica about a private investigator who has a clue buried within a clue. He's fallen for an imigrant from Ethiopia. She's smuggled herself onto a cargo ship and lands in Baltimore, is rescued by a neighborhood woman who raises her and sends her to college. The girl ends up being recruited by the San Diego Police Department and in 8 years makes Sargeant. The two, a private detective with physical disability retirement from the PD and the Sargeant have a passionate affair, but the results are, well, ahem, odd. You'll have to wait to read it.
There are also others. However, the demand for the first ones determine how quickly these others get published.
Balls of Ice is about a police Lt involved in gem smuggling. Cops and Robbers tells a tale of a police beat officer who is having an affair with his Lt's wife and the Lt is doing some bad things. It's as if all these books came along suddenly, but I've been writing at them for years; you can believe me they've been in one computer or another for almost 20 years now. One was written so long ago that they SDPD still used Dodge Magnums for their detectives. Now that's a LONG time ago.
Hope you enjoy the books. Check with Amazon regularly for Long Ride, No Hiding Place, Edge of the Knife, Terror and Revenge, and the last is not named yet.
